The software “Cloud Station Drive” (NOT the backup software!) from Synology can be downloaded at https://www.synology.com/de-de/support/download/RS816 .


Once the software is installed, you can enter your user data (see screenshot).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Your access data for the FOSTEC Cloud will be provided at the beginning of the project at latest. Once you have signed in, the local storage location for the cloud folder and the cloud folder to be synchronised must be selected. Select the folders to be synchronised on the Synology NAS and the computer by clicking the pencil icon. Then, you can can click on Advanced to configure the synchronisation settings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Uncheck all folders that do not need to be synchronised.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Set a maximum file size or add the names or types of files you do not wish to be synchronised.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Choose the “Two-way sync” option in order to be able to upload and download files.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The local saving of files should ALWAYS take place in the FOSTEC CLOUD folder to ensure that files are secure.

This system should also be observed and maintained whenever additional folders are created.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Click on “Done”, and the cloud is ready to use.
